(Olympics) N. Korean cheerleaders root for speed skaters from both Koreas
2018/02/10 20:52 Article View Option By Kim Boram and Kang Yoon-seung GANGNEUNG, South Korea, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- North Korean cheerleaders made their first appearance at an Olympic competition on Saturday, rooting for short track speed skaters from both South and North Korea. Dozens of North Korean cheerleaders took seats at the Gangneung Ice Arena, located in the sub-host city of Gangneung, where North Korean skater Choe Un- competed in the men's 1,500-meter race. Wearing red uniforms, the squad waved the national flag of North Korea, as well as the Korean Unification Flag, as they chanted slogans such as "cheer up!," "unification!" and "we are one!"   It was their second apperance at the 2018 PyeongChang after showing up for the opening ceremony the previous day.
